The 1963 Annual Gathering of American Mensa (actually North American Mensa at the time, since it included Canada), referred to at the time as the American Mensa Conference, was held in New York, New York (the site of the first few American AGs, since American Mensa was concentrated in this area at the time) at the Belmont Plaza Hotel. It lasted two days (June 15th and 16th), and had a registration fee of $10, which included coffee, lunch, and evening cocktails. There were 160 attendees. One of the recommended accommodation sites for out-of-town attendees was the Pickwick Arms, which had single rooms starting at $5.
