Orange County Mensa is a chapter of American Mensa in California. It hosted the 1990 Annual Gathering of American Mensa, and also organized the 1999 AG, although the latter was held outside the group's territory. Cookie Bakke, who has been active in this group, chaired the 2004 AG in Las Vegas, but changed her membership by preference to Southern Nevada Mensa at that point. American Mensa Chairman Russ Bakke (Cookie's husband) is a member of Orange County Mensa.

In the 1990s, the group's ExComm controversially ordered the entire printing of an April Fool edition of the chapter's newsletter, The Oracle, to be destroyed because of allegedly offensive content. This was known as the "Fool Frontal Nudity scandal" after the title of the issue.
