In a famous incident, the tour bus broke down during one of the side trips connected with the gathering, leaving a group of Mensans stranded in the desert until a new bus could be sent.  They responded creatively by "founding" the fictional town of Broken Wheel, Arizona.  This would be reprised in skits at later AGs, including a "radio show" called ''Desert Home Companion'' which was a homage to ''Prairie Home Companion''.
