Alan Truelove is a former member of American Mensa and British Mensa who was expelled from American Mensa following a national hearing in 2000. He had been a politically controversial figure in Mensa for many years, and had pursued a lawsuit against Mensa International Limited, American Mensa, and others over being removed from the CompuServe Mensa Forum, a suit which Truelove lost. At his hearing in American Mensa, it was cited that Truelove had at one point been a member of American and British Mensa simultaneously, in violation of International Mensa provisions against holding membership in more than one national Mensa at once, but this was not the grounds for the charges against him, which stemmed from his lawsuit.
