Peter Baimbridge

Peter Baimbridge is a past Regional Officer for the North West Region of British Mensa and national Research Officer, as well as being a former member of the Board of Directors, Local Secretary in Central Manchester and Secretary of Party SIG. During his 12 years with Mensa, Peter has traveled widely to attend other national groups events and has visited with local groups while abroad on vacation. Peter has organized / helped organize a variety of events for his fellow members, including the original Centre Parcs/Oasis winter weekends and several summer sun holidays. Peter was part of the organizing team that took 350+ members from 10 countries to N. France to see the eclipse in 1999 and is leading the organizing team for the 2008 British Mensa Annual Gathering in Liverpool.

Born in just before Christmas, 1955, and educated at St. Bede's, Manchester and (what has become) Manchester Metropolitan University, Peter's real-life career includes sales, marketing, project management (<£500k), operations and technical management in: food and pharmaceuticals process and packaging; materials handling; large & high risk oil, gas and petrochemical fire-fighting systems; small IT systems; fitted furniture manufacture and installation. Peter presently runs his own company specializing in fitted furniture reinstatement and associated small building works / consultancy for the insurance industry and is also Technical Director for a small local informatics company specializing in e-government / public access systems.

Having been told he is too old to play rugby any more (yeah, right!!), when Peter has the time, his interests include target and clay shooting, hill walking, travel, driving (too fast) - and keeping fit enough to get his money's-worth from his pension fund.

Peter lives alone in Monton, Eccles, near Manchester, and has a 32 year old daughter, Sarah, living in Chorley, Lancashire.
