The Board of British Mensa is more properly the Board of directors of British Mensa Limited. The Board was previously known as the BMC. Each year the Board meets after the AGM to select their principal officers and other society volunteer appointees. The current principal officers are John Paines (Chairman), Glenys Hopkins (Secretary), and Deborah Theasby (Treasurer). The Board meet around every six weeks to take decisions on company and society business.

The electoral system aims to create three vacancies per year, with electoral terms of three years to a nine person Board. Elections to the board have traditionally been strongly contested, although for the past few years there have been too few candidates to trigger contested elections.

The Board is in the process of adopting a system of Policy Governance.
