British Mensa is the official Mensa organisation for the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. (Mensa in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland is run by Irish Mensa, a subsidiary of British Mensa.) British Mensa and Mensa International are both descendants of the original Mensa club, founded in England in 1946.
