Nicholas Barnes is a member of [[British Mensa]].

He lives in [[wikipedia:Balsall Common|Balsall Common]], [[wikipedia:West Midlands (county)|West Midlands]] where he works as a [[wikipedia:Telecommunication|Telecommunications Consultant]] trading as Vitell.

Educated at [[wikipedia:The Mirfield Free Grammar|Mirfield High School]] and [[wikipedia:The University of Leeds|The University of Leeds]] where he gained a [[wikipedia:B.Sc.|B.Sc.(Hons)]] in 'Data Processing and Information Systems' before joining [[wikipedia:First Direct|First Direct]] where he progressed from Management Information Co-Ordinator to Systems Manager.

Moving to [[wikipedia:Switzerland|Switzerland]] seemed like a good idea and so he undertook a three year contract for [[wikipedia:UBS|UBS]] in [[wikipedia:Zurich|Zurich]] as [[wikipedia:OpenVMS|VMS]] Systems Manager.
