The '''American Mensa Facebook group''' was the official group for [[American Mensa]] on Facebook until mid-2014, when it was split (rather acrimoniously) into two groups, [[American Mensa Hospitality]] and [[American Mensa Firehouse]]. The original group was unmoderated, but there was a lot of contention over whether people should be banned from it for excessively annoying or offensive behavior or whether it should be a no-holds-barred free speech forum; this resulted in the split into a moderated group (Hospitality) and an unmoderated one (Firehouse). Technically, the Firehouse group is the original group, renamed, keeping its archives, though all members were removed at the time of the split so they had to rejoin one or both of the new groups.
