He was Chairman of the Board of British Mensa from 2005 to 2007, is currently 2nd NatRep to the International Board of Directors, and has fulfilled many other volunteer roles within Mensa. Until 2007 he served as a trustee of the Mensa Foundation for Gifted Children, a charity originally founded by Victor Serebriakoff. Outside Mensa he is involved in chess administration.
